I am searching for connections to James Humphrey Crawford, born in Alabama in 1854. He married Laura Vernon and lived in Lamar County (formerly Sanford). As of the 1880 census, they had two sons, Henry Ellis and Thomas. The census states his father was born in South Carolina.

Another query suggests that his father may be James J. Crawford who came to Lamar County from Abbeville, SC. He was born 1812 and married to an Atalaide (spelling?). They may have had sons named Joseph Lindsey, Thomas and William Andrew Crawford. His father may have been named William. However, I have no evidence that his connection is valid.

Any help will be appreciated. I am at wits end with these ancestors!
