I am trying to track down more information on my g grandmother Ida Staton married to John Wesley Churchwell in Taney Co Mo.

Rev John Staton's book says her parents were George Harvery Staton and Sara Carter and that she was born in Staytonville NC. It doesn't fit very well with what I know and so far I can't seem to find anything that supports that connection.

According to everything I can find on Ida, she was born in Missiouri. Her father was born in Alabama or Georgia area - there's conlficting census records on this one. Mother consistently was born in Arkansas.

John Churchwell was born in TN but moved to Locust Grove Stone Arkansas when he was quite young. I noticed that many Corter 's lived in Stone Co. Is it possible that Sarah was a Corter rather than Carter?

Does anyone have any information that might help me? I am at a dead end on this branch.
