Recent deaths in my Corns family line

Hello everyone,
I thought let you know there have been deaths in my Corns family lately, so you could update your family trees.
My maiden name is Helen Wolfe, daughter of Helen Arbutus Compton, daughter of Artie Ellen Corns (who married Ellis M. Compton originally from the Russell County, Virginia area),daughter of John Alexander Corns (and Martha Evelyn Dye), son of Samuel Jackson Corn, son of Samuel Corn, son of John A. Corn and so on back to Mathew Corn/(Cohen/Caan) and his wife Mollie
We lost my aunt Edith (Compton Keen Meadows) the other day (her funeral is tomorrow) :( (daughter of Artie Corns and Ellis Compton) Her sister, my aunt Gladys (Compton Bolding) passed away in December and shortly after that their aunt (my great aunt) Jettie Corns Vance passed away as well. I'm going to copy and paste the info from my tree and obituaries here to share with you all.

JOHNSVILLE: Edith M. Meadows, 78, formerly of Fredericktown, died Friday, March 28, 2008 in MedCentral Hospital Shelby, following a long illness.

She was born January 28, 1930 in Russell County, Virginia to Ellis and Artie (Corns) Compton and came to the Mansfield area in 1951.

Edith married Robert James Keen and when he died in 1955, at an early age, she was left to raise her children on her own. She then married Hobart J. Meadows who also preceded her in death in 1977.

A woman of strong faith and conviction, Edith was a member of North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church. You could count on Edith to be the first one there at every function, to open the doors and have things ready. She enjoyed revival services and gospel sings.

She was an avid quilter, having set a record of completing 100 quilts in a single year.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Edith is survived by her children and their spouses Carol and Woody Bailey, Wanda Wyss and Roscoe Brickey all of Marion, Glenn Keen of Long Beach, CA and Sonja and Michael Hoffer of Bellville; two stepsons Hobart Grant and Dee Meadows and Oliver Lee Meadows all of Mansfield; four grandchildren Heather and Shane Triplett of Marion, Michael Hoffer, II of Columbus, and Adam and Karly Hoffer of Bellville; three great grandchildren Coral, Crystal and Kendra Triplett; a brother and sister-in-law Roy and Charlotte Compton of Mansfield; three sisters Eunice Vance, Helen Arbutus Wolfe and Evelyn Sesco all of Mansfield; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a sister Gladys Bolding, and four brothers-in-law Hershel Keen, Golden Vance, Allen Wolfe, and Bob Sesco.

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 30, 2008 from 2-5 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church, 6186 State Route 314, North Woodbury. Pastors Roger Fletcher, Jimmy Thompson, and Rob Ratcliff will officiate. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association may be made at the funeral home.

Gladys Marie Bolding
Gladys Marie Bolding, 79, of Fredericktown, OH, and formerly of Lexington, OH, died Dec. 14 in Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon, OH.
She was born June 1, 1928 in Drill to the Rev. Ellis M. and Artie E. (Corns) Compton, and moved to Ohio in 1951.
She had worked in the disc department of Columbus Electric for 22 years, and retired in September of 1995.
She was a member of North Woodbury Freewill Baptist Church, North Woodbury, OH.
She had a deep love for the Lord, and displayed that love through her words and deeds. She lived her faith, clearly evident through her acts of compassion, generosity and love.
Survivors: daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Toni DeuIlius of Mount Vernon, Betty and Thomas Wolford of Galion, OH, Ruth and Tucker Ward of Jacksonville, FL, Mary and Jon St. Clair of Fredericktown, and Sharon Darby of Walled Lake, MI; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Eva Bolding of Butler, OH, Jack and Phyllis Bolding of Mount Gilead, OH, James and JoAnn Bolding of Fulton, OH; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sisters, Edith Meadows, Eunice Keen Vance and Arbutus Wolfe, all of Mansfield, OH, Annie Sesco of Ontario, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Charlotte Compton of Mansfield; aunt, Jettie Vance of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral was held Dec. 18 at 10:30 a.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, Mansfield (419-884-1711), with Pastor and nephew, Roger Keen, officiating.
Burial followed in Shauck Cemetery.

Jettie Pearl Corns Vance
Jettie Pearl Corns Vance, 93, of Mansfield, OH, died December 30, 2007 in a Mansfield nursing facility.
Born June 12, 1914 in Swords Creek, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha Dye Corns.
She was a member of the Methodist Church. She had been raised in Swords Creek and had resided in Ohio since 1987.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Duvall; second husband, Curtis Miller; third husband, Howard Vance; four brothers, George, Jessee, Roy, and Floyd Corns; and two sisters, Susie Corns and Artie Compton. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors: several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was conducted at 11 a.m. January 3 in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. Eugene Miller and Rev. Carter Wells officiating.
Interment followed in the Plaster Cemetery at Swords Creek.
