I am searching for the parents of Arad Converse. He married Roxanna Haselltine in Bakersfield, VT and both are buried in Bakersfield. There is speculation that he is the son of Josiah Converse and Matilda Ayres. However, I cannot find a birth record which is what I need. I need a birth record for DAR. In the Converse book by Charles A. Converse, Josiah and Matilda are mentioned on page 52 under James Converse who was Josiah's father. However, no where else in the book is Josiah and Matilda's children. His tombstone stated he was born in Brookfield, MA but there is no record there. I have checked Brookline, NH as that is what is on his death record. I do know that Josiah and Matilda had a son Cheney. If anyone knows of a birth record, it would be appreciated.
