I am Gayle Coombes Cook. I am related to Thomas J. Coombes of Indiana. He was born 1823 in Kentucky. His father was Samuel B. Coombes from Kentucky and moved to Indiana, I am not sure when. Thomas J. Coombes was in the Civil War in 1863 in Indiana. Thomas J. Coombes has 4 sons, in which one is Edward Feilding Coombes born in 1851. Edward had several kids and I am down from 2 of them John Albert Coombes and Charley Francis Cooombes. John son Alvin Coombes born in 1904, and Charley's daughter Ruth Coombes born in 1909.
