Been a while since done any digging around this area as the Bryds were not my main line in these messages. Have found little more on even the Cole line as at the time it ran into a dead end for me as for as possible Harrell Cole relation.

My primary concern is that Levi Harrell RS/SR 1750-1806 wed twice to simply a Mrs Cole and Miss White. Most current sources on them indicate that Mrs (Sarah) Cole was the first spouse born around 1756 and probably from the Albermarle area (sources not clear if they talking about Albermarle County in VA today or the older Albermarle County in NC now extent and also to add to the confusion is the Albermarle Sound at VA and NC line which is not close to the VA county of this name...) due to fact Cole was a prominant family name in area then.. Also Miss (Esther based this name shows up on estate papers in Barnwell SC for Levi in 1806) White as secodn spouse by most sources.

Starting to pull up documents that might indicate that Levi only had one spouse and she was probabley Miss Esther White as most indicate he wed second after 1804 and have found possible answer to why this possible.

Seems a Francis Harrell of Johnston Co NC died in 1804 leaving his estate in testate there with a widow Mrs Sarah Cole Harrell being said to be his spouse. Indications are this Francis Harrell was possible Levi Harrell uncle and this Sarah his aunt whom he probably spent a good deal of time with early on in his life as did his children Levi JR 1777, Asa 1779, Francis 1781, William 1784, and Esther 1801; as he fought in SC around Charleston area with General Francis Marion 'The Swamp Fox' of REV WAR Fame. As yet to find any solid documents showing who Levi married and older sources when rechecked indicate they had the same problem find such documents on him and some even refer to the Daughters of the American Revolution who also lack solid documents on his marriages. It is common knowledge that during REV WAR many who owned land in areas near Charleston which was a strong hold for Crown sent their family away to safer places while they fought in the area. Since lack a solid birth date on the Johnston Co Francis Harrell have know idea who he is and how he may be related to Levi Harrell RS but do feel he was not a brother since Levi is suppose to be son of Jacob Harrell 1734-1787 who only named three males in his will filed in Charleston and this were Levi his son, Lewis his son, Jasper a child (thought to be his son but since not defined as such could be grand child by way of how he listed in will). Also will note that Jacob in his will chose son Levi and son-in-law Silas Simmons as executors of will but only Levi was appointed when will proved inside a month after it filed in 1787, Silas Simmons is the spouse of Selah Simmons who shows as wittness on Jacob will and has been verified as spouse of Silas from his 1795 will also found in Charleston.

Anyway still kicking the old bones around trying to get any link to who Jacob Harrell may have wed as in will his wife was probably still living but is never names. As well as clearing up just who and when and where Levi married....
