George Clayton, coal miner aged 40 years married to Nancy in Poynton Village in the 1851 census had his place of birth given as 'Cheshire, Wennylow', which I think is Werneth Low.

The above George appears to have been christened at Hatherlow, Romiley, Cheshire, 21 October 1811, parents Thomas and Sarah CLAYTON. Father Thomas appears to have married as follows:

1. Leah BRERETON at Stockport St Mary, 28 November 1796
2. Sarah MOORES at Stockport St Mary, 18 February 1811
3. Hannah, ?Hannah BLAIZE at Stockport St Mary 21 September 1821?
4. Rebecca nee HUDSON aka BOOTH at Cheadle St Mary 29 October 1842
