My gg aunt Norah Bohan married William Duggan in Austin Minnesota. He was a widower, formerly married to Bridget Cummings or Cummins. You can find them in Iowa in 1880. They moved to Austin and Bridget died May 7 1889 at age 33 years. William then married my gg aunt, Norah in Apr. of 1992.
Dec. 13, 1993, William died leaving his children orphans in the care of their step mother Norah. Norah Bohan Duggan then married James Sheehan of Illinois but 6 months later she died. The children were then taken to others homes. I can account for 4 of the 5 children mentioned in his death notice, but cannot find one child. I believe that Norah and William had a child, Norah Anna Duggan (I have a photo of a round faced child). She does not show up in the 1900 census anywhere, nor in the 1895 Minnesota census in Austin. I don't know what happened to her.

I know that the George Duggan who married Etta Clark is William's son born in Iowa. I contacted another researcher (see below) who confirms that the children were with Norah and James Sheehan in the Austin, Mower,Minnesota 1895 census.

Hi, I am also researching my Duggan roots. I printed out your newsletter,but did not find mention of my particular branch of Duggans. Our family, Dennis and Mary Duggan, appears to have arrived in the US in 1850, and settled in NY. They eventually moved to Minnesota, near Owatonna. William, their son, married Bridget Cummings of Iowa, and they lived and died in Austin MN. William's son, George, served in the Spanish American War, and then moved to Woodland, CA. I have a lot more detailed info., but want to keep this short...Barbara Duggan Dahl

Barbara above contacted me Sept 2004: the Duggan children are located in the 1895 3rd Ward in Austin, MN census with J. J. Sheehan. There are two J. Sheehans in Austin on the same census page.
