Surnames: CLARKE, CLARK, BUCKLAND, COLLETT, SMITH
Hello Iris,

I have some interest in a Clarke family with connections to Kington St Michael, Wiltshire. Annie or Anne Victoria Buckland of Kington St Michael married one Henry Clarke at Wandsworth Surrey London in 1882. However, Henry was born in Shrivenham Berkshire now Oxfordshire about 1859. Although no record of his birth was found on the IGI, there is however one recorded in Berkshire in 1859 on the BMD Index.

Of course I don't know if this is the same Clark / Clarke family that you are researching, however it is interesting nevertheless. My connection to the Buckland's is through marriage of some Collett cousins of Kington St Michael and Slaughterford into the Buckland family. Both the Buckland and Collett families were yeoman farmers in and around this area of Wiltshire.

I noted the 1891 Census entry for the above family as;

162 Sunny Hill Road, Streatham, London
Henry Clarke, head, married, 32, Gardener, employer, born Shrivenham Berkshire
Annie V. Clarke, wife, married, 39, born Kington St Michael Wilts
Elsie V. Clarke, daughter, 5 or 8, born Streatham London
Mable A. Clarke, daughter, 1, born Streatham London
Walter Buckland, nephew, unmarried, 19, Watchmaker's Apprentice, employed, born Kington St Michael Wilts
Rose Smith, niece, unmarried 17, born Kington St Michael Wilts
Joseph Smith, nephew, unmarried, 14, printer's Errand Boy, employed, born Kington St Michael Wilts.

Cheers,

Don Cameron.
