In case anyone is still interested:
Llewellyn Clapper was 1st married to Sarah Elizabeth McLees of Muskingum Co., b.6 Apr 1856 d.1 Mar 1893 and is buried in Sugar Grove Cemetery in Salt Creek Twp. (daughter of Thomas & Sarah Elizabeth McLees). Llewellyn was the son of George Harrison & Olive (Coleman) Clapper. Llewellyn is buried with his 1st wife.

Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Mitchell) Clapper: Ohio Death Certificate info: b.4 Aug 1871 Ohio, d.27 Jan 1939 Licking Twp., Muskingum Co. Buried Blue Rock Cemetery; widow of Llewellyn Clapper and daughter of David Mitchell and Jane Lee, both born Ohio.

1880 census of Blue Rock Twp., Muskingum Co. MITCHEL: David 62y, physician, Jane 46y, with 9 children including Elizabeth 9y; all in household born in Ohio. They are both buried in the Blue Rock Baptist Church cemetery: David E. 1817-1892 and Jane 1834-1909.

I would love to know where the Apache/Carlisle Indian School tale originated. Sounds like one of those family stories that gets passed down because it's so intriguing.
