It took me nearly 20 years to find out who Betsy Charter's parents were and now, in less than 3 months, you have given me several more generations! THANK YOU! Isn't the computer (and a Message board) wonderful?

OK, it "begs" the question, how do I prove it? Were these Charters always from around Ellington, or did they wander in from somewhere else and where can I locate the appropriate records? (Or, do you already have them?)

My husband's grandfather wrote up some of his "family history," back in the mid to late '30s, but he didn't have a CLUE about his grandmother, other than her name was Betsy Charter! He wrote some things about the "other" Charters who lived nearby (Crystal Lake CT) , but I haven't found any REAL relationships (some kind of cousins, no doubt, but how?).

This is another family that "history has forgotten!"
