yes, they became Quakers in Perquimans County NC--I found some info on the Perquimans Monthly Meeting and it mentions a lot of Chappells beginning in 1755 as being Quakers, I suspect the Quaker relationship had something to do with them going to Indiana between 1811-1815. Brenda Chappell Birmelin
