Ida and Ludwig had a son named Daniel William Carlson who was born on April 14, 1899. He was a CPO in the navy and died in the Battle of Midway on June 6, 1942. Daniel married Irene Price and they had only one child, a son, named Donald Michael Carlson who died in 1993 in Queens, NY. My family thinks Irene's mother may have been Bernadette Cassidy...

I did some research and was able to figure out things more clearly, but I have used several websites such as www.allefriezen.nl and cannot find any information on Ida and Ludwig.

When I did a search through ancestry.com I found a man named Ludwig Carlson and his wife Ida Carlson but what confused me was that they listed a man named Henry Carlson and said that he is the father-in-law to Ludwig...but why would Henry have the last name of his son-in-law?
