Hi! Very nice to hear from you! Do you happen to know if Julio had a brother named Roque? We suspect there were several brothers who went from Corsical to Puerto Rico. Apparently the Spanish government invited people to go there to improve productivity, and the deal was if you married a local girl you got a lot of land. That is what happened with Roque. He married a local girl from Aibonito and was given a lot of land in the Salinas area. His descendents are still living there. My frustration is that I live in London and can't get to Cuomo where the records of the early Carattini's are apparently stored in the big church there at the center of town. It would be nice to find some marriage records, because they might have the ages, parentage and birthplaces of the bride and groom. Do you know the town in Corsica Julio was from? Thanks for getting in touch! Kind regards, Laura
