Hello Maite
I've just returned from Puerto Rico where I did a lot of research, and I was so pleased to read your message, as you may have solved a family mystery. I am descended from a Roque Carattini, who is supposed to have left Corsica with 3 brothers in the mid 1800's. He settled in Puerto Rico, and there is a rumour that one of his brothers stayed there as well, but we don't know his name. The other brothers may have returned to Corsica, but we don't know for sure. Roque married an Antonia Teresa Martinez from Ai Bonito, and they had 10 children. The descendents of these children now reside in Salinas, Cuamo, Ai Bonito, and all over the States.
Do you know what Francisco's parents' names were? If his parents were the same as Roque's, then we have a connection.
We have some family who spell Carattini with one T and other who spell it woth two. Very confusing!
One of Roque's daughters married the man who was mayor of Salinas in the 20's, so I wouldn't be surprised if he knew Celestino and Juan.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Laura Hardin (g daughter of Clemencia Carattini, and gg granddaughter of Roque's)
