Can anybody tell me an easy way to find Family immigrant names on the 'alien entry books' around 1883-1886?

I've looked at the 'To Whom' section, but it seems to show companies, mayors, etc.
In later books it has a heading 'Aliens Name', but still doesnt seem right. Any help is appreciated, Jamie
