Ok, i found his fathers name was Antonio and that the shop on kensington was not the one my family had. It was on 266 Smithdown Road, Liverpool.
I have had a look at pictures of Smithdown on a lot of Liverpool sites, and they are very good pictures!
The nearest i got to 266 smithdown road was of Sefton Park Station Bridge in 1905. (attached)

I have also attached a picture of 266 smithdown in 2009, which was then 'Volute cafe/art' shop. It is now a property shop called 'Yakel Properties'.

Please can anyone supply me a picture of the shop or near it between 1930-1980?
