Classification: Query
Surnames: James, William, Thomas, Zachariah Butler
That WAS confusing...actually, my perfect dna match wrote a book that I have not seen, and I may or may not agree.
He says:
Thomas of Berwick, ME
James b.1699 Berwick d.1757 Va
William 1741 Va. 1794 Worcester, Md.to...
My research... ggg grand William 1775 b. Ga. or Va. or NC (conflicting children's view as to birth) to Greene Co Ga 1800, Wayne Ky with the Jesse Walkers (m. Mary Walker) 1810-1830 to Jackson, Missouri(active civic affairs) to Collin Co.Active civic affairs) Texas. Three of the Butler children m. 3 of Wm. Warden's. family also married into the Bledsoes and/or stayed in Mo.,went to Texas, or went to Oregon.
The Zachariah came forth when I searched James on ancestry.
Zachariah seemed to be the only one connected to that family with any information. Zach would have been my James brother. I accept what you are saying and I appreciate it.
dna suggests the Orange Co./Culpepper/Fredrick area, kin to a prominent border family and the Bedford Tn Butlers. The perfect dna match with the book is in the generation of My William 1775.
So it's all conjecture after that unless you find a record.
So let's get that butlerdna.org site up and running again.
