There is quite a lenghy story about Corneliuses. Jerry Burright and I corresponded because of his Cecil Cornelius b 1879 which I was not aware of. I only knew of Cornelius b 1777 and of my Cornelius W.b 1842; and his son by his first wife. J. Cobb....Cornelius "Neal" A. Sherman. Cornelius W. was married three times l) Jane Cobb they had 4 children 2 sets of twins; 2) Alice Davis they had 6 children and Sara Margaret Wilmoth and Cornelius had 13 known children. He is buried in the Hilltop cemetery Polk County. In fact I just back from the funeral home who helped me with correspond- ing and ordering a new stone from the Veterans. He served in the Civil War along with two of his brothers. It should be in place by now. He and Sara are buried there side by side. Their oldest child, Chamelia, is my grandmother, my dad's mother.
