Forgot to put in my previous post that in 1841, 1851 and 1861 Censuses I was looking at the entry under the name Elizabeth Scotson (head) b. Aughton about 1795.

Robert Scotson and Elizabeth Brighouse had a son Samuel born 4 Apr 1830 Wheelton, Lancashire, England. I found an Elizabeth Brighouse in the 1841, 1851 and 1861 Census which looks like the right one (born Aughton about 1795, Lancashire). He emigrated in 1850 on the "Henrietta" to Victoria, Australia and married a Martha Wilson Dunlop in 1867 - some of the the names he gave his children are the same as those listed for Elizabeth Scotson in the Census lists. I believe this was his second marriage, and that he was older than Elizabeth Brighouse (but still to confirm year of birth and death for both).
