This is what I have on the Brandons of SE Missouri. (Its pretty long) My Grandpa Brandon's father's name is "J.H Brandon, born in the late 1820's, married a Cherokee Indian maiden and lived inthe Arkansas Territory near Little Rock, Ark.. Huge fought in the Civil War for the Confederacy between 1863-1865. There was a Confederate Capitol at Washington, Ark and a Union Capitol at Little Rock. Hugh was the father of Joseph, born sometime around 1847. Joseph was the father of Thomas, William, James Henry, and Janie. James "Jim" born 1872, married Elizabeth Waters in 1892. They were the parents of Maudie (1889) and Joseph Henry, born November 20, 1893, near Dexter, Mo. (This is our Grandpa.)

Jim died of pneumonia in 1896 and Elizabeth died of pneumonia in 1903 leaving Joseph and orphan. Joseph Henry lived in his grandfather's house until the age of seventeen. During these early years, Grandfather Joseph moved the family, including uncles and their families back to Arkansas. They traveled by covered wagon from Dexter along Crowley's Ridge route to Little Rock, Ark. They were on the trail for 3 weeks, camping at night and hunting game to provide fresh meat. The wagon train forded the Little Red River in Stone County crossing over into Van Buren County and eventually coming out near Morrilton, Ark. The family later returned to Missouri.

Joseph Henry "J.H." worked in Clay Co., Ark cutting timer and helping clear thousands of fertile acres in Cache Bottoms. On Aug 27, 1916 J.H. married Grace Viola Renfro (grandma), daughter of Susan Whitsett and William Jackson Renfro of Rector, Arkansas.J.H. and Grace were the parents of 12 children, 3 died in infancy. 9 children lived to adulthood. (This J. H. Brandon is my grandfather)

1. William Henry(1-21-1919) married Elizabeth Marooni and they became parents of Sandra Ann (1-21-195*), Donna Jean (10-27-195*) and William Lee (11-5-195*)
2. Bertha Jane (8-17-1921) married James Boshell. They are the parents of Margie Faye (7-10-194*) and Jimmy Dale (3-28-195*).
3. Sylvia Nevada (2-14-1925) married William Dee Like. (Little Bill) They are the parents of LaDonna May (5-2-194*) and Vikki Leigh (9-28-195*).
4. Everett Donald (5-14-1926) married Barbara Bopp. He is the father of Darrell Lee (1-27-19**) and Don Stevens (6-14-19**)
5.Aubrey LeRoy (10-13-1928) married Nell Louise Perkins.
6. Thelma Willadean (5-22-1932) married Marcus Eugene Mackey. They are the parents of Terryl Lynn (3-18-19**) and Mark Brandon (1-9-19**)
7. Velma Earlene (10-29-1934) married Oran Miles. They are the parents of Neva Jean (10-13-19**) and Cheri Lee (6-12-19**)
8. Betty Jean (6-27-1938) married Delmar Bledsoe and they are the parents of Tonya Terese (12-29-1956), Kavin Leon (12-4-19**) and Kelly Dell (11-25-19**). Delmar was killed in a car crash in 1973. On Sept 22, 1967, Betty married Zed Harwood of Piggot, Ark. They are the parent of Brandon Coyle (4-16-19**)
9. Darrell Gene (3-18-1942) married Karolyn Brown Shivley (9-25-1942). They are the parents of Rhonda Yvette (3-10-1962 to 3-9-2003 40yrs old at time of death), Jerry Don (9-21-1963 to 3-24-2008 44yrs old at time of death), Denise Leigh (11-27-19**), Clinton DeWayne (1-24-19**) and Joseph Richard (9-18-19**). ** are in place of the last 1 or 2 digits of DOB due to children are still alive today.

J.H. Brandon moved from Clay Co., Ark. to Pee Dee area near Campbell in 1937. Betty and Darrell were born in the Pee Dee area and grew up in the Campbell area, attending the Campbell School. J.H. Brandon and his wife, Grace were farmers in the Campbell area for almost 40 years. Grace died on October 27, 1978. J.H. Brandon passed away in 1987. Most of the Brandons are buried in Campbell, Missouri and surrounding area.
