Without sorting through past notes, I think my mum's dad was known as Bill or Jack. He was the eldest of 3 brothers who worked for Schweppes if I remember correctly. He lived in Watford for many years at the end of his life. I believe he may have lived with a niece (or another relative). He was still working, collecting the beer glasses in a local pub during his 90s. He died as the result of a fall on the icy doorstep, after returning from the pub, breaking his pelvis while trying to get his door key out of his pocket. I have a photograph of him. I know next to nothing of his wife (my maternal grandmother) as she died before I was born. I do not know her maiden name. The only thing I remember is that she worked in a munitions factory during WW1.
I will sort out all my old paperwork.
I haven't done so yet, but I will sort out all the notes I made some years ago.
