I wonder if any of this is relevant to you.
My mother’s name was Edith BOWRY (b.1897 approx. d.1959). I never knew her father’s first name, but I think it may have been William (b.1867). I do know that my grandfather lived with a relative (niece?) in Watford, and survived well into his 90’s. I wonder if that relative was Beatrice Ellen BAKER.
My mother came from a large family. I knew her brothers, John (Uncle Jack to me) and Frank, and her sister Louisa (no children). Jack served in the army in India and later lived in Brentwood (Essex). He had two daughters, Jean and Joan. Frank had one daughter, Phyllis who was unmarried and accidentally fell between two carriages of an underground train as a young adult. Two of my mother’s brothers/sisters married two of my father’s brothers/sisters (I never did know the exact combinations). i.e. 3 BOWRYS married 3 HAWKINS’S. I am the seventh, and youngest, child of Edith BOWRY and Albert George HAWKINS.
I hope you are able to find something useful in this. I should certainly be thankful if there is anything relevant that you are able to pass on to me, as my knowledge of the BOWRY side of my family is very scant.
