Hi Christine,
Just seen this! My grandfather Francis Bowry was the brother of Clement Bowry. The family tree has been traced back to 1641. We have cleaned up the Bowry Grave in St. John's churchyard old Malden , where several of our ancestors lie. What's more I am in possession of an ancient chest containing many deeds, letters, birth and death Certs of all the Bowry's. Some are signed with the Kings seal when lands at Merton were conferred upon our direct ancestor Francis James Bowry in the 1700s by Edward de Merton of Merton college Oxford. My father Francis James Biwry sadly passed away in 2006 , but there are still a few of us Bowry's left to keep the name going! I would be fascinated to hear about your connections?!
I am Alison a Burns nee Bowry born in Kingston 1962, just like my father, grandfather, G Grandfather & Grt Grand mothers going back ....
With best regards
Alison
