My grandmother is a Carignan; her father was Louis Benjamin, from Champlain. Louis had a brother Gedeon. I have been seeking the parents of Louis and Gedeon, and found only that they were "Pierre and Marie".So by a process of elimination, and later confirmed, that they were Pierre Carignan and Marie Adelaide Pepin, married in July 1843. I have been working on another family branch, so have put this aside. I do not know the line any farther back than that. I do believe that his family is a Bourbeau Carignan. And, my maiden name is Audette (Audet) and that in 1743, a hundred years earlier, Audet married Marie Josephe dit la Chance Pepin. Strange. Alicia
