Boldens are a puzzle. I've heard that my grandfather, FRANK LUCIUS BOLDEN was mean as a snake and twice as ugly. I wouldn't know. I've only seen a small picture of part of him. He was standing in a lake that seemed pretty shallow. The water came up to about his hips. In the flat bottomed boat were his wife, my grandma JESSIE MAE MOSHER, my great aunt Margaret, and my uncle Levi Mosher in his black suit and hat. I have been told the he was a Mennonite preacher. The picture was tiny, one of those very, very old postcard size pictures that are like cardboard. So I never really have seen their faces. They were all long gone before I came along and no one passed on the family history. This was in DEKALB COUNTY, ILLINOIS, btw and I have a whole bunch of them all over the south too. I think they're running from the law. That's the only conclusion I've been able to come to! LOL
