Thank you so much for your reply. My father, William Earl Bloecker, had only 1 sister, Dorothy Allen Bloecker (never married, no issue). My father was the son of William Julius Bloecker and his wife, Nellie Allen Enos.

William Julius Bloecker was the son of Christian Julius Bloecker and his wife, Justina Fredericke Pflaum.

Christian Julius Bloecker emigrated to this country from Holstein area of Germany about 1850 and became a naturalized citizen. He was a furniture maker. Justina Pflaum was from Baden.

From what I can glean from census records, Walter R. Bloecker, born 1882, was the son of Anthony R. Bloecker, born 1860 in Philadelphia. Anthony Bloecker was the son of Frederick Bloecker, born 1824 in Holstein.

My guess is that Christian Julius Bloecker, born c. 1825 in Holstein, is the brother of Frederick R. Bloecker, born 1824 in Holstein.

My aunt (Dorothy Allen Bloecker) once told me that her grandfather had a brother in Philadelphia, but "we never saw them". How unfortunate for us genealogists!!

Please share with me anything you know about the Bloecker family both in Philadelphia and Holstein. I have been trying to find out about them for years without much luck. I would love to know who my grandfather's parents were.
