augustus (guss)blevins was my husbands ggrandfather,jimima pullen hughes was his last wife and they had walker,jacob and ella called(eller), the family called augustus "goose". he was born circa 1817,our goose was born in indian terr., but not in ok indian terr. he was part indian, and at least one wife was indian, he died in 1910 and is buried in connerville, johnston county ok. at his death he had a long rifle that had belonged to daniel boone that had been used in the battle of the indian named "broken arm" in missouri. he is said to have had three or four wives and over twenty children. we know of wife susanah and their children, lucinda, jackson,evaline and a couple of others, but who are his parents, brothers and sisters and his other children by the other wives? his father and/or his brothers crossed paths with daniel boone, according to a write-up in the newspaper at the time of his death. the blevins in this family are part indian, cherokee or choctaw or mixed. there are many blevins on the dawes rolls, but we cannot connect yet. hope to hear from you soon if you are family or know someone who is.
