He was in Jackson County MO in 1830 and Platte County in 1840 and 1850. In the latter he may not show up in the index, but he is next to Warren D. Blanton. It is possbile that William went with John, but returned to Lee, since he does not appear in the 1830 Lee census.

Elizabeth Wiseman was the wife of John Blanton of Monroe County VA. We can trace him to KY and In. The bad information originated with Noah Bradley's "My Father's Family." He confused several Blantons with the same given name.

There is some good research on the family by Louise McDonald. Some of it is in posted on the Blanton Family Historians Site at:

One descendant of William b. 1799 has been tested at www.smgf.org, but they keep the names secret. You can find his lineage by doing a surname search and clicking on the pedigree button on the results page.
