I forgot to mention that after the murder of Jacob Snider, while attempting to avoid arrest, he changed his name to John “Jack” Hall. His wife and children also assumed the surname Hall. He kept this name for the rest of his life. I have a photo of his daughter Alice Hall that was taken in Portland, OR, in the 1890s, and given to my Gr. Aunt Ann, Jack’s niece.
