Mildred Ellen (Fortsch) Bishop, 88, Cañon City, died Dec. 17, 2004, in Pueblo.

She was born July 13, 1916, in Sumner, Iowa, to William and Ella (Mesca) Fortsch. She was married to Michael Clement Bishop on April 22, 1939, in Michigan City, Ind.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Seebeck, Cañon City; grand-daughter, Karen (Robert) Seebeck Keeler, Omaha, Neb.; grandson, Michael (Lidia) Seebeck, Riverside Calif.; great-grandson, John Seebeck, Riverside Calif.; sisters, Bettie VanDaele, Fairbanks, Iowa, Irene Carey, Maynard, Iowa; brother, E. James (Carmel) Fortsch, Oelwein, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; children, Michael C. Jr., and Sharon; her parents; sisters, Idella Fortsch, Luella Fowler, Velma Wagner, Thelma Brandt, Lorna Mathews; and brother, Donald Fortsch.

Recitation of the Rosary was at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, followed by a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. both services will be at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Cañon City with Father Jim King as Celebrant. Inurnment will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Chesterton, Ind. at a later date.

Charles Anthony Funeral Home in Florence handled the arrangements.
