I am the granddaughter of a Charles Bennett who lived in Illinois and worked as a carpenter, but this was long, long ago. I don't know his birth or death dates. My fathers name was Ralph Bennett who was born in 1898. I don't see how this might help you or me, but the Bennett's did seem to occupy space in multiple upper midwestern states. I was born when my father was 57 and I know little about my family. Maybe this will help a little.
