I'm looking for anyone who might know of a Charlotte GILBERT born somewhere in Quebec C1820. Charlotte married Thomas (possibly aka John) BATTEN sometime before 1839, when their first daughter was said to be born. I have no information on siblings or parent names, except for perhaps her naming a child after one. A/Elvina, Lucy, Mary Elizabeth, Sarah Ann, Charlotte, Calvin, John William, Deborah Matilda, Hiram, and A/Elmira. Possibly also an Emily (who was either a separate child, or aka Elmira). Charlotte and Thomas are both massively high and thick brick walls for me. I have already looked for Charlotte's birth and marriage to Thomas, and Elvina's birth on many occasions in the Drouin. I found one I hoped would be her (Charlotte), but after following her through marriage and death I decided she wasn't mine. In 1851 Charlotte and Thomas were in Ontario (Oneida Twp) along with their first six children. They then moved to Bruce and possibly Huron (the boundary lines changed) County. Charlotte is buried in South Kinloss cemetery, and Thomas is buried in Maple Leaf cemetery in Echo Bay. I descend from their daughter, Sarah Ann, she was my second great grandmother. Some of the children moved to Michigan in the early 1860's. I have a good deal of information on all of these children, but I really need to find out more about their parents. I believe Thomas had a sister named Lucinda, as she was mentioned in a book written by the daughter of John W - Thomas's son. Lucinda was, apparently, a teacher, who then married a lighthouse-keeper, and moved east. That's all I know.
