I too am a decendent of Electa and Samuel. I haven't been able to trace before George Bassett but have been able to find some history of George in Indiana and his relocations from Vermont to Brockport, New York, and finally to Lagrange county Indiana where he died in 1895. By the way, Samantha Fairchild according to what I have found was born on September 16, 1806. George and Samantha were married September 28, 1826. Have you found anything about Samuel Marks' ancestors? The only formation I know about Sam before his marriage is that he was born in 1824 in Ohio. I have his military records and family decendents of which I am one. I follow from the line of his son George.
