I am curious if others are getting matches to Brinsley Barnes on the new Ancestry.com DNA test (not to the older Y-chron tests which are limited to males). I am also a female Barnes descendant thru Brinsley's daughter Mary (married Samuel Carter). I have now gotten dna matches to a number of other Brinsley trees - 3 thru possible son Solomon; one thru Brinsley Jr., and two thru possible son John "deaf" Barnes. More interesting, I have three matches to trees of Elizabeth Lindley, often thought to be the wife of Brinsley, but no documentary proof that I have heard of. The matches to the Lindley line are thru Elizabeth's sister, Margaret "Margery", sister Mary, and brother Thomas (Lindley children identified in James Lindley will). Of course, since the ancestry.com DNA test doesn't provide raw data results, it is always possible that these matches are to a earlier common ancestor...on both trees, but I am intriqued by the Lindley sibling matches as well as the repeated Brinsley Barnes children matches...
