I had the same question about the birthdate of Edmond Bailey and finally made the determination that his mother was Ann Whitehorn; although the Bailey family bible of Sussex Virginia indicates her first name was Amy?

The information I have on "Miss E. McGlamary" (as my grandmother spelled her name) indicates Philip married her but; I made the mistake of assuming that Edmond was her biological son. She is probably the Eliza that you mentioned.

I think the father of Philip was Henry Bailey of Sussex, Va.,but I have not found anything to connect them. Henry is listed in the 1840 census of Revolutionary War pensioners and is between 80-90 years of age.

If any researchers on the Sussex County line are out there, I would love to hear from you.
