I am looking for descendants William Atkinson and Margaret Guthrie (Guthrey?). William was born in Lancaster County PA (I believe in 1820 but perhaps earlier) and died in Little Rock, Iowa in 1891 or 1901. I am looking for descendants of two of his sons: James Henry Atkinson (b April 7 1853 probably in Iowa, d April 10, 1919, possibly in SD), and Hamilton Atkinson (b July 25, 1857, d June 2, 1936). A 1904 biography I found of their brother Samuel Elliott Atkinson (b Aug 24 1869 in Tama County Iowa, d April 20, 1905 in Gregory County, SD, buried in Highland Cemetery, Fairfax), said that James was living in Mount Vernon, South Dakota; and Hamilton was living in Remson, Iowa. Samuel had one child who died in infancy--so no descendants. I am a descendant of these 3 brothers' sister Mary Eliza "Mellie" Atkinson who married Romance Erwin Botkin.
