Joel Atkinson, b. abt. 1751 in Virginia, married Sarah Standly b. abt. 1782 in No. Carolina. Children are Lewis Wesley, 1808 Henry, 1812, Milley, 1813, James,1815, and Peter Hammond Atkinson who married Sarah Emeline Walker in 1844. Sarah b. Tenn. and Peter b. Wayne County, Kentucky. They had 10 children in Wayne county. Years are 1824 to 1870 that they were in Wayne County, KY. Peter was a gunsmith in Monticello. Then they went to Missouri, Caldwell County. Does anyone know where Joel is from? Or have any suggestion where to look? That is as much as I have on the ancestry. They were Mormans. Sometimes the name is spelled Adkinson, Adkissons or Atkins.
