Well, I am still here and interested in your reply. I appreciate it very much! I have often wondered why I could never pick up any other trace of the connection.

This part of the Atkinson family never seemed to give their children middle names. On the other hand, my father's family always had middle names and almost every one used the middle name for identification. My older brother, Daniel William, died two years before I was born. Until I started family genealogy about 1990, I didn't know William/Billy was a middle name and he had another name, Daniel.
