In your post you mention Halifax Nova Scotia and Barbados in connection to your Atkinson family. I am also trying to work out my links with a family connected with Barbados by the name of Atkinson. Although the origins of this Atkinson family are Irish. One of these Atkinson's married a girl from Halifax Nova Scotia - his name was Andrew Lyster Atkinson who was born in Dublin Ireland about 1862. I don't know the surname of the girl from Halifax that he married - sometime between 1891 & 1901, but her first name was Marion and she was born about 1870. Andrew Lyster Atkinson's parents were Thomas Joseph Atkinson and Hester Jane Atkinson nee Cullen. Please let me know if any of this information links with your family.
