Thanks very much for posting a copy of the bill of sale. The J. W. Atkins mentioned is definitely James W. Atkins. Check the 1900 census for Bossier Parish, Ward 1. Listed there is James. W. Atkins, who lists his occupation as Planter & Merchant.

The Connell signed under his name would be Everet R. Connell, but not positive if that would be Jr. or Sr. Both are in Ward 1, and both list their occupations as salesman, but only Jr. stipulates Dry Goods.
