Apparently, I am a late-comer to this party. Hopefully someone is still poking around my family!

I, too, am a descendant of Blount. While digging around work (I work at a museum), I ran into a copy of an old deposition given by Bridget Arthur regarding things she had overheard when her husband, John, was alive. John apparently ran a tavern and a ferry just outside of New Bern (then spelled Newbern(e))and seems to have died a few years before the deposition was given. Bridget testified that she heard members of the General Assembly discussing plans not to attend meetings as far away as New Bern and Wilmington again and, through doing so, stop the effectiveness of the government.

Would be happy to share the text of the paper and share any other info. It's always nice to meet other cousins.
