I just read this and I have Allars going back as far as Guillaume Allar married to Margeuritte (surname unknown)going down through his G grandaughter Ann Allar who was married to Abia Butfoy (Boutefoy) Guillaume Allar was baptised in the Huguenot and Waloon Church, Canterbury on 11th march 1664, parents being Guillaume Allar and Jean Soteau. I cant claim the credit for finding this out as my cousin found the church documents but I have seen the marriage document of Guillaume and Jeanne Soteau stating that his father was Phillipe Allard and Jeannes father was Thomas Soteau.
