Dear Isobella, Your Allan family coming from Caithness in the north of Scotland one would have to say there was a reasonable chance of being of some connection. Donald and his sister Margaret Allan's parents were David Allan, (a master tailor) and Elizabeth Allan (nee Manson) deceased at the time of the marriage, of Thurso. Donald, a bachelor, was a Drapery Warehouseman, residing at 30 Broompark Drive just east of Glasgow inner City, near to St Mungos cemetery. After 2 children his wife Janet (nee Currie, my Grandfather George's sister) died in 1921 and the children went to Donald's sister Margaret and Donald left Scotland for destinations unknown to either of the Allan or Currie families. I am trying to find what happened to Donald and whether he has other descendants. Kind regards, George Currie, Methven, New Zealand.
