Dear Mike, I am partly interested in your David Allan in that I am trying to find a Donald Allan from Caithness in the north of Scotland. Donald, a bachelor, was a Drapery Warehouseman, residing at 30 Broompark Drive just east of Glasgow inner City, near to St Mungos cemetery. He was the son of David Allan, (a master tailor) and Elizabeth Allan (nee Manson) deceased at the time of Donald's marriage to Janet Currie in Glasgow. I am wondering with the each generation naming a son after parents or grandparents that your David of 1740 could be connected to Donald's father David from Caithness a century later? Our Donald was married to my Grandfather George's sister Janet in 1915 and after 2 children his wife died in 1921. The children were cared for by Donald's sister Margaret returning to Thuso, Caithness and Donald then left Scotland for destinations unknown to the Allan or Currie families. I am very keen to find out Donald's whereabouts and any possible further descendants. Best regards, George Currie, Methven, New Zealand
