Thanks for replying to my message. The Hammond Aldridge you refer to as your great, great grandfather was the son of James Aldridge and was born 1840. The Hammond I am referring to bought land in Lawrence Co. OH 25 June 1841 (southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 11, Township 3, Range 16, 41.59 acres.) Who was he? No one seems to know. I am doing Aldridge research for a friend of mine: Wanita Aldridge Edmiston Day. She has written a book on her Aldridge family.
