Served one year (1862-63) in Captain Cordes' Company G 3rd Regiment of the South Carolina Cavalry and then was honorably discharged because he was still a subject of the King of Hanover. I am trying to find out where/when he came into the U.S. and with whom. He and his family left Charleston sometime between 1865-1873 and settled in Brooklyn. Information, anyone?
