• "Mrs. Annie Hunter Acker, widow of Dr. P.J.M. Acker, died at her residence, 151 Government St., Saturday night after a long illness.

"Mrs. Acker was a native of Newry, Ireland, but she had lived in the United States since infancy....

"The Acker residence at 151 Government St. is one of Mobile's historic homes and was famous as the home of Madame Octavia LeVert, who was a social leader in this city in the years before the War Between the States."
