I am also looking for connections to the Manella/Mannella name. I am research Concetta Manella that died in Chicago June 9, 1941. She had married Daniel D'Aquila while still in Italy (according to immigration records from their children). They had 5 children: Aurora (Rossi), Rose (Schullo) Anna (Ciolli) and Lawrence and George. Anna is my husband's great grandmother and I know that she immigrated to US around 1904 (Chicago) which would indicate that her parents married and beget her back in Italy. Anna is rumored in family history to be from the Abruzzo region - and the surname D'Aquila would sure suggest the Aquila region.
