My grandmother's ancestors came from the little town of Haudrecy, just outside Charleville-Mezieres. My greatgrandfather was August Lapierre, who married Elizabeth Lindeman in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born in France, as were his parents Joseph Lapierre and Henrietta Choderlot. (There is some conflict about the spelling of both her names.) Joseph's father was Isadore J. Lapierre. About 35 years ago, I wrote to Haudrecy in care of the postmaster, in hopes of contacting any relatives. He told me that the remains of the family grist mill were still there, and some cousins of mine still lived there. I never heard anything from them unfortunately. Perhaps their English is as non-existant as my French. I would treasure any info anyone could provide. Thanks!
